Client vs Customer. What's the Difference? Free Guide
In a real estate transaction, the level of service you receive depends on whether you're treated as a customer or as a client.
Clients are entitled to a higher level of service because they have a signed agreement with a REALTOR® who is legally bound to represent their best interests. That includes loyalty, confidentiality, full disclosure, and expert guidance throughout the buying process.
Customers, on the other hand, receive more limited services. While they may receive general assistance or access to listings, they are not owed the same fiduciary duties that a client receives.
By signing a Buyer’s Representation Agreement, you become a client—and gain the full, dedicated support of your agent to help you secure the right property at the best terms. Get your FREE Guide to learn more about Buyer Representation.
